This was a personal project for me to just have fun with and let my mind run free inbetween school courses. At the same time I also wanted to experiment with some new techniques in order to improve my workflow. The high poly was an older sculpt of mine that I decided to continue on, so I ignored the lower part of his body and decided to focus mainly on the face and hair. I wanted to play around with the combination of a viking and a dwarf, giving him some dwarven facial features and a over-the-top-beard-braid, but then have a color palette and armor that fits with the viking concept. Retopology and rigging done in Maya, baking in Marmoset Toolbag 3, texturing in Substance Painter and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 3.
